One By One
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
My word for 2022 is “positivity”. I want to enjoy positive experiences, think about positive things, and have a positive outlook. I want to see the “full” in the glass. I want to see the positive despite the negativity of the situation.
This week, one week into a new year, I found my word being put to the test. It was becoming a challenge to stay positive. In fact, had I been taking an exam on my overflowing positivity, I would have failed. We have been praying for provision in a certain area for months and the frustrations were mounting.
As I went to God in frustration, I found God reminding me of all the times He’s shown up. He reminded me of the times he made a way when there wasn’t one. He gave me gentle reminders of His provision…even down to my very wants. I found myself remembering things from my childhood all the way into my adult life up till now. He reminded me He can do anything and everything. His timing is right. I guess you can say I was counting my blessings and naming them one by one…like the old hymn.
I may not understand, but He knows the why, He knows the how, and He knows the when. He knows the need and I know He is working to meet it.
What need have you been praying about that seems like an impossibility? I challenge you to count your blessings.
Dear Lord, thank you for the gentle reminder of so many needs you have provided. Help me to continue to trust in your timing and wait patiently for the promise of your provision. Help me to do it with an attitude of thanksgiving, gratefulness, and positivity. Also, while you’re working, help me to stay out of your way.
