He Leadeth Me
He leadeth me, O blessed thought!
O words with heav’nly comfort fraught!
Whate’er I do, where’er I be
Still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me.
He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful foll’wer I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.
Lord, I would place my hand in Thine,
Nor ever murmur nor repine;
Content, whatever lot I see,
Since ’tis my God that leadeth me.
This morning as I was getting ready for work, the song, “He Leadeth Me”, came to mind. We sang this old hymn when I was a kid at the little white church in Lexington, Ohio.
My heart leaps with joy as The Holy Spirit gently reminded how He is guiding me with His eye. With my hand firmly gripping His, I am content knowing He is The One who leads. He has good plans, and He will go before me making crooked paths straight.
The gentle, sweet peace of The Holy Spirit is the refreshing I need and the rest I enjoy. I’ve never been perfect, but my sincere desire has always been to be faithful. I want to serve My Savior with passion, joy and intense conviction.
May His joy be made full in our lives.
